RAGE AGAINST THE X FACTOR

An Appealing Christmas Message from Joe Rukin

Joe Rukin: http://www.rukin.org/

17th December 2009

This morning, before going on air, someone at Radio 5 obviously asked Rage Against the Machine if when they played “Killing in the Name” live, they could miss out the “Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me.” bit at the end.

I’ll give you one guess what happened. Audio at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00pbq9j#p005n8wp.Video  (bleeped at the end) is currently at http://www.bbc.co.uk/5live/

Right at the start of the interview front man Zach de la Rocha, who has once given evidence to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, said “I think it would be a kind of a wonderful statement. The kids all over the UK have responded to this incredible internet campaign and I think that it says something about the real tensions that people are experiencing all over the UK and the United states as well and I think people would just love to hear a song that reflects some of the tensions they’re experiencing in their daily lives and we’re very excited about it.”

That’s part of the message at the Rage Against the X Factor Christmas appeal, my comedy audition to Simon Cowell’s new masterplan, a political version of X-Factor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxR2Pwp13Xg
