2011 IACSEE CONFERENCE – SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS

Values and Purposes in Citizenship, Social and Economics Education

Bath Spa University, Bath, United Kingdom
Tuesday 28th – Thursday 30th June 2011

SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS

The first Call for Papers has so far attracted over fifty delegates from many parts of the world: Austria, Canada, China, England, Germany, Iran, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, Portugal, Slovenia, South Korea, Scotland, USA and Wales. A wide variety of papers well integrated with the conference theme have already been accepted. We are delighted that it has generated so much interest.

Part of the attraction has been the line up of first-class keynote speakers. Professors Stephen Ball, Peter Davies, Penny Enslin and David Coulby are each well-known international experts in their field. Ball and Davies are to address conference on the nature of enterprise in education, and Enslin and Coulby on normative structures and strategies in aspects of citizenship, social and economic education.

The venue has also been an attraction. The City of Bath is of course a UNESCO World Heritage Site http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/428

We have been asked to extend the deadline and this we have agreed to.

The new date for submissions is the end of March 2011.

If you wish to submit an abstract please send it to h.gibson@bathspa.ac.uk (Dr Howard Gibson, the IACSEE Conference Secretary).

The Association’s refereed international journal Citizenship, Social and Economics Education (www.wwwords.co.uk/CSEE) will be devoting a special edition to the conference theme.
